The award-winning Merewether Surfhouse was designed by architects at Crone Partners and awarded the prestigious Excellence Award at the Urban Growth NSW Lower Hunter Urban Design Awards last year.
The highly exposed site and high-profile nature of the redevelopment was challenging, as it was replacing an iconic Newcastle building and was to be designed in a way that significantly enhanced the area.
