Down Under Port Stephens

Hunterborn thirty-three-year-old Justin Gilligan has combined his passion for ocean depth, marine life and underwater photography, creating a fascinating professional career working as a Marine Park Ranger at Narooma, on the south coast of New South Wales.

With numerous accolades and international awards, Justin recently was recognised as one of the world’s best photographers and commended in the British Natural History museum’s ‘Wildlife Photographer of the Year’.

His was the only Australian entry to receive recognition in the competition and to make the final cut. This exhibition of 99 photos travels to world museums, was recently showing at the Australian Museum in Sydney and is currently on display at the Lovett Gallery, 2nd floor, Newcastle Region Library, Laman Street, Newcastle until 9th August.

Justin has recently published a book entitled ‘Port Stephens Naturally’, which contains a collection of his images promoting the natural beauty of the Port Stephens region…
