Agricultural shows at Cessnock, Newcastle, Gresford and the Upper Hunter
22/02/19, 1/03/19, 08/03/19, 15/03/19
Roll up, roll up for all the traditional fun of the fair as the Hunter prepares for one of the busiest times of its agricultural show season.
The season began with the successful running of the Maitland Show in mid-February, and will continue with a host of events across the Hunter during February and March.
Cessnock Show will take over Cessnock Showground on February 22-23, while Newcastle Show will bring a slice of country life to the city on March 1-3, with visitors urged to “discover something new” from the eclectic mix of carnival, agriculture and artisan entertainment.
The show schedule will return to its rural roots during the following two weekends, with a flagship event in Gresford (March 8-9) that promises two days of competitive events and exhibitions, while the 129th annual Upper Hunter Show on March 15-16 will be that region’s biggest event of the year, with everything from polocrosse and poultry judging to thrilling rides and sideshow alley games on offer at Muswellbrook Showground.
