Broke Village Fair

8 September

There will be vintage vehicles and old-fashioned fun on offer when one of Broke’s biggest annual events draws visitors to the Upper Hunter village. The Broke Village Fair and Vintage Car Display kicks into gear from 9am – 3pm at McNamara Park, with hundreds of vintage and classic cars, motorbikes and trucks, and an impressive display from the Hunter Valley Vintage Farm Machinery Club.

Skills from a bygone era will be on show when Cessnock blacksmith Doug Moseley fires up his portable forge for a series of smithing demonstrations, while local artisans, winemakers and olive growers will showcase their wares at more than 60 market stalls. The Hunter’s mining sector offers an insight into the coal extraction process with bus tours of the nearby Bulga Open Cut site. With tug-o-war competitions, rocker cover car racing, whip cracking demonstrations, children’s rides and an animal display there is plenty to see and do.
