Australia Day Newcastle Harbour Swim

If you’re looking for a different way to celebrate Australia Day, why not head into the Newcastle foreshore and make a splash in the Newcastle Harbour Swim. This classic swim is in its 24th edition and returns as perhaps the richest open water swim in Australia, with prize money of $3500 split amongst the overall fastest, males and females ensuring it attracts some of the best open water swimmers in Australia. The event is organised by, and is a fundraiser for, Stockton Surf Life Saving Club and includes two different distance
to suit swimmers of varying levels. The ‘Single Crossing’ (700 m) from Stockton is a social swim for all entrants over 14 years of age. Kids aged 12-13 will race for prizes in the Single Crossing. The ‘Double Crossing’ (1400 m) from Newcastle to Stockton and back, is your other choice with prizes for the fastest swimmers overall and various categories, with a minimum age for entrants of 14 years.
All swimmers are timed and can get a certificate of completion.
