New Year’s Eve at Newcastle, Maitland and Paterson

Tuesday, December 31 2019

The Newcastle Harbour foreshore will come alive with a family-friendly street party on December 31, with a host of live entertainment to keep you entertained all afternoon before the main party kicks off. A free concert in the Queens Wharf precinct will have revellers rocking well into the night before a giant fireworks display over the water caps off the festivities at 9pm.

Waterfront fireworks will also provide a grand finale to Maitland’s New Year’s Eve activities, with fireworks sparkling across the sky above the Hunter River. There will be plenty of other things to
do before the 9pm light show, with live entertainment, food vans, rides and more creating the ultimate family fun zone in the Riverside car park.

The Paterson River provides the picturesque backdrop for another long- running New Year’s Eve event, which offers two separate fireworks displays to cater for those who want to officially ring in 2020 in a community setting. Tucker Park will have entertainment for all ages, with live music, slippery slides, face painting, food vans and a playground, with fireworks set to go off at 9pm and again on the stroke of midnight.
