Curtains go up on new performances: Civic Theatre 2021 subscription season


VARIOUS DATES – A lively mix of theatre, dance, music and comedy will see the Civic Theatre shrug off its disrupted 2020 season with a vibrant new schedule of shows, providing the perfect opportunity to experience the exhilaration of live music or the emotional journey of live theatre in person.While COVID-19 forced the suspension of most of the subscription season, the new schedule includes many of the 2020 highlights alongside some new gems for 2021. The season will include musicals, dramas and children’s shows including the hilarious 91-Storey Treehouse, a play by Richard Tulloch adapted from the much-loved book by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton. Opera Australia is sure to impress with their presentation of Bizet’s Carmen while Sydney Dance Company’s Impermanence will offer a visceral and thrilling exploration of the juxtaposition of beauty and devastation.

It will also include standout favourites like The Gospel According to Paul and both the Melbourne and Sydney comedy festivals, with the chance to save money on ticket prices by booking three or more shows in one transaction.
