Simply a Touch of Coastal Chic

From the pantry window of their former home for years Sue had looked down on a vacant flat block of land just around the corner which was coincidentally owned by one of her relatives. The flat block had the perfect aspect they desired, ltered bay views fronting a tree-studded reserve which was so very private. “After a number of phone calls back and forth we were able to negotiate a price. The deal was done and we had fortunately secured the perfect building block,” said Sue. What was to follow was dejavu for the couple as they were about to venture forth on their third building project together and second with the same builder.

True to their word, Graeme Bakker of Bakker Homes was given a design brief and a budget guideline. If possible they wanted to enjoy a living space with the north-easterly aspect and the views across to Pindimar, the Bay and entrance to Myall Lakes as they had before. Although not as prominent as their previous home they now can see the stunning mountains of the Myall Lakes from the living room and entertaining-style terrace and pool area.

In the short time that Graeme had walked along the block with notebook in hand he had sketched the perfect floor plan only requiring minor changes such as moving the kitchen from the centre of the living space so as to allow the inclusion of Sue’s much loved concept of having a working butler’s pantry which was a must have with the laundry off this area opening onto the side garden.

As with most retirees downsizing they both wanted a lifestyle that was carefree and easy. The decision to make this home more casual was a decision made by the couple as they wanted a home which was very welcoming and relaxing to visiting family and friends as well as for their enjoyment day to day.
