Newcastle West – Bar Mellow

It’s one of Newcastle’s only dedicated wine bars, located in the beautiful heritage Bank Corner building in Newcastle West, and launched by the team behind East End fave, Tiki-inspired rum bar Blue Kahunas.
Bar Mellow is all about wine, cocktails and snacks – simple, yet classy and sophisticated. The façade and large double doors provide a warm and welcoming entrance to the wine bar that focuses on ‘natural’ or minimal intervention wine with a strong representation of Australian producers.

There’s also a carefully curated selection of classic cocktails with a distinct emphasis on gin. Think Negroni, Old Fashioned or watermelon Tom Collins. The food pairs beautifully with wine and includes paninis, pickled green beans or toasted rye with harissa hummus and sardines. Sipping on a gin martini or a zesty glass of orange wine, it’s the ultimate place to unwind.
