Denman in a Day

Set alongside a meandering river, living at its best. If you feel like you’ve seen all that the Hunter Valley has to offer in terms of cellar doors, think again. Denman is home to two wineries with sprawling grounds that offer tastings.

Two Rivers Wines, located at the nexus of the Hunter and Goulburn Rivers, is home to award-winning Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz wines. Established in 1988, Two Rivers has a long history of raking in awards for its Reserve Range that is only made and released in years with exceptional fruit quality.

Two Rivers regularly host special ticketed events with the option to stay on-site at the four-bedroom guest cottage. With its slow combustion fireplace, outdoor deck and an opportunity to see the ‘Custodians of the Landscape’ sculptures by artist, Ben Dearnley, a visit to Two Rivers can easily go from a lunch to a long weekend.

In the same region, you will find Small Forest Wines, a boutique winery that is home to Japan’s first female winemaker, Atsuko Radcliffe. Atsuko is an accomplished sake brewer who runs tastings of her house-brewed sake so be sure to book online for this unusual experience.
