What is HIFU treatment?
A powerful non-surgical face lift that rejuvenates sagging skin and reduce wrinkles during your lunchbreak? We spoke to Tiana Burnham at The New Law to find out more about HIFU treatment.
What exactly is HIFU?
This clinically proven technology is the latest solution for ageing skin. The High Intensity Focussed Ultrasound (HIFU) is a revolutionary aesthetic treatment designed to lift and tighten the skin with no need for surgery or downtime. The procedure can take as little as 30 minutes, depending on the area of skin you want to target.
How does it work?
The ultrasound penetrates a deep layer of the skin called the SMAS which is located just beneath the subcutaneous fat layer. The hand-held HIFU device operated by a therapist passes along the skin and uses heat to create a thermal trauma to the SMAS layer without damaging the skin. The trauma causes your body to produce more collagen, elastin and proteins that tighten your skin naturally creating the overall rejuvenated look.
Who might benefit from using HIFU?
Collagen production begins to slow after age 30, and HIFU is best suited to someone who has mild to moderate skin laxity in that midlife era. Most people look to use the treatment on their face, neck and decolletage but it can also be used to lift, tone and tighten skin across other areas of the body.
Will HIFU hurt?
The treatment is generally well tolerated with no downtime required afterwards which is why people choose to book it in their lunchbreak! Some clients experience redness on the area that has been treated and others may experience mild tingling in the jaw or around their teeth. but most people experience no pain whatsoever.
What should you expect post HIFU?
Results appear gradually over a two-to-three-month period as it takes your body time to produce more collagen. After 12 weeks, clients are invited back to discuss the results. Many people only require one treatment of HIFU, but some people may require a second round.
What does HIFU cost?
Prices vary but treatment packages start at $199 for an eyebrow lift HIFU at The New Law.
Why choose HIFU?
As a non-surgical option, the lack of downtime appeals to people looking for a quick and painless glow-up. The natural looking results speak for themselves with many happy clients experiencing younger looking skin for up to 18 months.
