Nelson Bay: Inner Light Tea Rooms
Offering million dollar views over Shoal Bay Beach, Tomaree and Yacaaba Headlands, the heritage-listed Inner Light Tea Rooms, are famous for their generously sized, freshly baked scones with lashings of jam and cream, available all day long. Pair them with a smooth coffee or loose leaf tea and a visit from the local rainbow lorikeets and kookaburras and you’re up for a real treat.
The menu at Inner Light Tea Rooms features fresh, wholesome food. Try the eggs benedict with avocado, baby spinach and hollandaise sauce on sourdough toast or the thick belgium waffles for breakfast. Lunch faves at Inner Light Tea Rooms are the garlic mushroom, ham, onion, spinach, Swiss cheese and pesto toastie or the goat’s cheese and onion quiche. Indoor and (pooch friendly) outdoor seating is available. To walk it all off, take a stroll to the nearby maritime museum in the old lighthouse keeper’s cottage.
Open from Monday – Sunday 8.30am to 3pm
