Newcastle – Light Years Asian Bar & Diner
A piece of the tropics has arrived on Newcastle’s Darby Street with the opening of Light Years Asian Bar & Diner. With a beautifully curated interior, punctuated by peachy pink tones, marble tables and large indoor palms, the pretty surroundings are matched by mouth watering Asian fusion food and bold signature cocktails.
Designed to share, the menu offers small plates like mud crab, prawn and scallop dumplings and larger share plates, including a delicate kingfish ceviche with coconut chilli and kaffir lime and crispy caramel pork with charred pineapple and herbs.
To finish with something sweet, try the creamy vanilla and coconut sago with Thai basil strawberries, white chocolate, meringue, raspberry sherbet, and lemon balm.
Light Years are particularly famous for their cocktails which have an Asian twist and are made using freshly pressed juices.
Open Monday – Friday 5pm – 10pm, Saturday and Sunday 12pm – 10pm.
