A new chapter – The re-birth of Mount Pleasant
Walk into the newly refurbished Mount Pleasant Cellar Door and you might mistake it for a luxe country club. Restoring the original homestead buildings, award-winning architects and interior designers Luchetti Krelle have beautifully balanced the historical essence of this iconic winery with contemporary styling. The new owners, the Medich family, have spared no expense. The result is a unique offering that is raising the bar on wine experiences in the Hunter Valley.
You can browse the beautiful collection of historic photos and stunning pieces of art, then take a seat by the fireplace or on the terrace for a leisurely wine tasting.
The cellar door offers five tasting experiences priced from $25-$150 per head, a private tasting room, an exclusive members’ lounge and a wine store where rare museum wines are available.
The new food offering has been designed by head chef Kyle Whitbourne in collaboration with renowned chef Justin North and Mount Pleasant Winemaker Adrian Sparks. Designed to share, the menu features locally sourced produce, perfect to elevate your wine tasting experience. Think burrata with roasted grapes, Mr. Charcuterie chilli cured lonza or Montecatini wild boar and fennel seed salami.
We are sure legendary Mount Pleasant founder Maurice O’Shea with his passion for art and culture and a generous spirit of sharing great food and wine, would approve.
