Prosperity Assurance
Elevating Audit with Insight, Innovation, and Integrity.
Story Alex, Hardy, Prosperity
In the heart of Newcastle and the Assurance team is redefining what it means to deliver high- quality audit and advisory services. With deep roots in the region and a national reputation for excellence, the team works across a diverse range of sectors: each with its own unique challenges and opportunities.
From not-for-profit charities, hospitality, government entities, and medical technology companies to cryptocurrency exchanges, schools, aged care and NDIS service providers, and retirement villages, Prosperity brings tailored expertise to every engagement. The team also supports large private and family-owned businesses, multi- national companies, AFSL-holders, ASX-listed entities, and IPO-ready companies, offering a full spectrum of assurance services that include external audit, internal audit, due diligence, IT/ cyber audit, trust account audits, grant acquittal audits and risk advisory.
At the core of this capability is a powerhouse team of professionals, including six Registered Company Auditors, an exceptional credential that reflects the firm’s commitment to quality and independence. Recently, Prosperity was appointed as the external auditor for another ASX-listed company, further cementing its position as a trusted partner for capital markets’ financial reporting and governance.
The team’s growth trajectory continues with the recent appointment of Vijyata Kirpalani as Director of Corporate Assurance. Vijyata brings over 20 years of experience across audit, risk management, compliance, and assurance services, including senior roles at EY, BDO, and the Audit Office of New South Wales. Her leadership and global perspective, shaped by her work with IFAC and the IAASB, are already making a significant impact.
Prosperity’s commitment to innovation is equally impressive. Having embraced artificial intelligence and machine learning in the firm’s audit methodology several years ago, the firm has, and continues to, invest heavily in its tech stack to enhance the client experience and deliver better quality audits. Tools to streamline data collection and remove traditional pain points for auditees, as well as platforms to enable deeper insights into client businesses have been prioritised and this approach allows the team to focus on what matters most: adding value through strategic advice and actionable recommendations.
Recognition has followed. Prosperity was recently listed for Firm of the Year at the Australian Accounting Awards, a testament to its culture of excellence and its unwavering focus on client outcomes. The Newcastle-based Corporate Assurance team, led by Alex Hardy, continues to be a driving force behind this success, with a strong presence in Newcastle and the Hunter that reflects the firm’s regional pride and community engagement. Proudly founded in the Hunter in 1989, the firm has grown to be an east coast advisory firm with international connections to over 480 offices worldwide in 70+ countries.
As the audit season ramps up, Prosperity is ready with a dynamic team, a robust methodology, and a clear vision for the future. For organisations seeking more than just compliance, Prosperity offers the Prosperity Difference: deeper insights, better technology, and a collaborative approach that turns audit into opportunity.
