Jerry Schwartz, director of Schwartz Family Company has partnered with leading hotel management group EVT to launch Rydges Resort Hunter Valley, previously known as the Crowne Plaza.
With bold plans to establish the hotel as one of Australia’s premier destination resorts, EVT will draw upon their events and entertainment expertise to further expand the property’s appeal for both leisure and conference guests.
In line with the resort’s commitment to sustainability, a fully electric passenger train will transport guests around the expansive resort. Three self-guided walking trails have been introduced along with new mountain bike routes in the adjacent Werakata National Park. A Hunter Valley Art, Wine and Food Hop tour will also be offered.
Kids will love the planned addition of a Ferris wheel, three-lane water slide, pirate ship and jumping castles. Permanent facilities, including a grandstand, will be added to the equestrian complex which recently hosted its first event, Equestrian in the Vines.
“Rydges Resort will embody everything that is special about the region and its attractions,” Dr Schwartz said. “It is pivotal to the Hunter Valley’s recalibration away from its former mining background to a new era based on tourism.”
