Newcastle Beach: Rustica
Its iconic location and stunning rustic-chic decor with wine barrels and lanterns, a retro Mediterranean map and eclectic art make Rustica a beautiful place to dine.
Dishes on the vibrant, locally sourced menu at Rustica change with the seasons. Delicious small plates include crispy zucchini flowers with Cypriot grain salad, yoghurt and feta or half shell Hervey Bay scallops baked with preserved lemon butter, dukkah crumb and pomegranate yoghurt.
Larger plates range from mouth-watering pan fried pumpkin and sage gnocchi with roasted pumpkin puree, gorgonzola, forest mushrooms and a walnut crumb to moorish vegetable tagine with chickpeas, pistachio, couscous, sumac yoghurt and harissa. Finish off your meal with a zesty lemon curd tart with caramelized white chocolate, meringue, blueberry coulis and fresh berries or decadent churros dipped in salted caramel and chocolate sauce.
Open for dinner Monday – Saturday, 5.30pm – 10.30pm, for lunch Friday – Sunday, 12pm – 3.30pm
