At One with Nature
Kirsten Woodforth has been an award winning commercial and event photographer for many years. A chance foray into local bush walks following extended time at home with her children awakened a new-found passion in Kirsten and her intricate and visually stunning nature photographs are being recognised and awarded around the world.
From a very young age Kirsten always loved photography and by the time she reached university, she had an inkling that her hobby would eventually turn into her career.
“I studied Fine Art at TAFE and then onto graphic design at the University of Newcastle and while studying I got a job with a local studio Hannan Photography. I learnt a lot about product photography as well as printing and the diverse nature of a client’s brief. I then went to work for local photographer Edward Cross and covered many weddings and events as his second photographer.”
Kirsten took time off to raise her two children, Kye 15 and Finley 13 and then set up her own business specialising in architectural, commercial, portrait and event photography.
“I have always loved working with a different range of clients and capturing people’s beautiful homes, businesses or special events. I have built up a special relationship with the Cancer Council over the years and I continue to volunteer for them as their event photographer for Relay for Life and Stars of Newcastle (the local Dancing with the Stars) fundraising events…”
