Rambler’s paradise
Join the Paterson Allyn Garden Ramble and enjoy a glorious slice of Hunter heaven.
Taking a leisurely wander through established gardens is truly a magnificent pastime, especially when you are not responsible for the maintenance! The Hunter region has many incredibly generous garden owners who, for various charities and community groups, open their yards and estates to the general public. It’s rare to find a more happy and relaxed audience than those ambling through expertly curated gardens, made up of neatly manicured beds, beautifully maintained hedges or grand soaring trees. Sunday 7 April sees the Paterson Allyn Garden Group’s first ever event, where some of the Hunter’s most established private gardens along the beautiful Paterson and Allyn River valleys open their gates to the public. Chair Janie Chandler says, “What’s not unique about our group is that we are a passionate group of gardeners, who like to meet up monthly and share our knowledge and experience with each other, including a few fabulous horticulturalists who are in our mix. However,” she continues, “what is unique about our group, is the length and breadth of our stunning valley and the breathtaking beauty of the area. The scale out here is truly spectacular.”
