Dog Rescue Newcastle

Dog Rescue Newcastle is a group of volunteers dedicated to the rescue of abandoned, neglected or abused companion animals:

We rescue dogs and cats from death row at local pounds and put them into loving foster homes until permanent homes can be found. We rescued Willow, a gorgeous four month-old Kelpie cross who had been left in a yard with a severe leg injury. After much consultation with the vet and orthopaedic specialist it was decided that the best course of action for Willow would be to have her leg amputated to avoid ongoing pain and discomfort. Willow came through surgery with flying colours, is adjusting to her new life as a Tripawd, and looks much happier already. We can’t thank Dr. Martin Strong from Motto Farm Veterinary Hospital enough for everything that has been done for Willow. She will have plenty of time to recover and when she is ready will be listed for adoption. Overall the cost has been $4000. If it wasn’t for the support we received from the Hunter community via social media we wouldn’t have been able to give Willow a chance at life. We are self-funded and rely solely upon animal loving people to help where they can.
