Mount Pleasant takes out NSW Wine of the Year at 2019 NSW Wine Awards
Mount Pleasant’s Mountain D Shiraz 2018 has taken out not one but three awards at the 2019 NSW Wine Awards. It has been named NSW Wine of the Year, Best Shiraz of the Show and Best Red Wine of Show.
Commenting on the win, Mount Pleasant Chief Winemaker Adrian Sparks says
“We are over the moon with these results and full credit is due to the hardworking Mount Pleasant team who have dedicated so much of their time to creating magnificent wines that represent the unique landscapes of the Hunter Valley.
“Great vineyards are the first step in making great wines and we are fortunate to be the custodians of some of Australia’s finest.”
Tasting Notes: Mount Pleasant Mountain D Shiraz – RRP $75
Colour: dark purple with dark violet hues
Aroma: Intense black fruits, spice and toasty notes dominate with some subtle licorice.
Palate: A rich and dense palate with dark fruits to the fore. The palate is intense and long with lovely structure.
