Lakeside Leisure Walkers

This group has been in existence since about 1986 and has seen several name changes over the years. Olga Neish has been the leader since 2010. There are around 25 members, including people from the age of 4 to over 90!

Walking with a group is a good way of meeting people and exploring areas around the coast. The meeting day is Thursday and the walks vary in distance and time as the group caters to all ages and varying levels of fitness. The longest walk (about 6kms) is the most picturesque and is in the Sport and Recreation park at Gwandalan. Most areas covered are between Bateau Bay and Caves Beach, with program changes every six months.

Following the walk, the members enjoy some social time and a cuppa while solving the problems of the world. In addition to the regular walks, most years a trip further afield is planned to places such as Forster and the Hawkesbury and Hunter rivers. October 2019 saw the group enjoying a five day holiday at Crescent Head Resort.
