Maitland Legacy
The Maitland Division of Hunter Legacy has had an active 2019.
The Youth Program, supported by Maitland Lions and The Friends of the Mirage Group, has offered activities assisted by the Cessnock Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC). The Program operated a wall climbing day followed by a barbecue. The attending Juniors were signed up to Cessnock PCYC which allows entry to all NSW PCYC’s.
With summer coming, there are plans to offer a learn-to-sail in conjunction with the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club. The older Juniors will be able to gain a deck hand certificate which will allow them to crew sail boats.
Maitland Legacy would like to sincerely thank all supporters for the funding that allows them to operate their programs. Special thanks go to The Friends of the Mirage Group for their very generous donation to the youth program. We also congratulate Margot Capp from the sister division of Dungog for being awarded an OAM for community services in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List. Well done Margot!
