Brooklyn’s birthday gifts
Birthdays for five-year-old Brooklyn Chaina haven’t been a regular childhood birthday for the past three years. When she was almost three she met Wonder Woman at a Toys R Us store. Brooklyn asked her if she did something special could Wonder Woman come to her party? She agreed and Brooklyn donated all her presents to Sydney Children’s Hospital. She did the same thing for her fourth birthday.
This year Brooklyn decided that she should donate the toys and books to John Hunter Children’s Hospital. Brooklyn’s father, Mathew said as a family they have been teaching Brooklyn that not all kids are as fortunate as they are. “Brooklyn has been given lots of love and affection from the moment she was born and has grown into a little girl who is showing the world just as much love and affection.
Donating these gifts to the Children’s Hospital wouldn’t be possible without generous friends and family, along with local businesses such as Toy Mate, who each year has donated $200 worth of toys.
In years to come it may be Brooklyn we see helping the sick kids get better. She has already decided that when she is older she wants to be a paediatrician.
