Masa Madre Sourdough Pizza
There’s nothing much in the back streets of Wickham save for warehouses and industry, but people are flocking to this tiny eatery for one very good reason: they make the most delicious pizzas in town. With a definite urban vibe, and just enough room inside for one table, a small kitchen and a mighty big wood-fired pizza oven, Masa Madre is laidback dining at its best.
The seating is al fresco on wooden tables – help yourself to water, cutlery and plates. BYO bottle of wine and settle in for a casual night full of flavour and fun. The pizza bases are made from natural sourdough, without yeasts or additives.
The dough, made daily, is fermented for 24 hours. There are always unexpected delights on the specials board, plus regular favourites such as zucchini with mozzarella, almonds and honey; smokey eggplant; or the Hot Hippie with mushrooms, kale, chilli and garlic.
Open Wednesday to Saturday 5pm to 9pm; Sunday 5pm to 8.30pm; takeaway available.
