Fighting breast cancer, a little gift at a time

The Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF) have joined together with a number of Hunter businesses to create a range of luxury pamper packages in time for Mother’s Day. The perfect gift to make someone’s day shine bright and to take their mind off breast cancer.

“Local charities, like HBCF, have been forced to close their physical doors during COVID-19 but the need for the support services they offer have doubled.” General Manager of HBCF, Ellie Wells said.

“HBCF rely solely on community support to fund the support services we offer to local families. The pamper packs are a great way for people to still give a beautiful gift to someone they love while also supporting local small businesses and giving back to a local charity”.

The pamper packs, available in different sizes, will feature a range of Australian made, eco-friendly and locally sourced items including a coconut and rose bath milk, aromatherapy body scrub, organic Tamburlaine sparkling wine, handmade soy candle, beautiful gel face mask and artisan chocolate. Local companies including Scrubba Body, Eunoia Soul Rituals, Coco Love Chocolates and Tamburlaine Wine are some of the businesses sponsoring the packs.

The packs can be ordered online, personally customised, and are wrapped in biodegradable packaging to be personally delivered across the Hunter region.

“At this time we could all use a bit of extra self-care and pampering, so why not give back to our local community at the same time” Wells said.

Amid the Coronovirus pandemic, it is also important to recognise the work being completed by local health care workers; which is why they have developed an option to sponsor a package for a local health care worker. A new initiative for the region.

“Novocastrians can purchase a pamper package from our website and we will personally deliver it to a Hunter health care worker at our local hospitals on their behalf along with a personalised note and a big round of applause”.

The proceeds of the pamper packs will go directly towards providing essential support services to families battling breast cancer throughout Newcastle and the greater Hunter region.

“The goal of The Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation is to ensure every Hunter family battling breast cancer feels loved and supported during this unpredictable time. We want to make sure everyone is cared for and that no none is left behind.”
