Soul Cafe

Soul Cafe was established in 2003 to serve meals free of charge to disadvantaged Novocastrians. Since then we have served thousands of meals and established ourselves as a safe haven for whoever needs help in Newcastle. Many of our guests deal with issues of homelessness, drug or alcohol addiction, crime, violence, poverty, separation, mental health and illness concerns.

Soul Cafe aspires to do more than just serve a meal. We aim to help our guests access services within the community to assist them to work through their individual issues and re-engage back into society.

We are non-government funded and are a Newcastle born and bred organisation focussed on addressing local community needs and supporting vulnerable people in Newcastle.

During the past few months we have worked very hard to continue providing food, care and assistance to anyone struggling in the current environment. We have changed our service models and procedures to continue keeping our volunteers and guests safe.

Our local community has been unbelievably supportive with both goods and financial donations. We are incredibly grateful to be part of such a wonderful community and will continue using whatever we have, to help whoever we can, whenever they need it.
