With 49 accommodation rooms including a four-bedroom standalone cottage, conference facilities, a restaurant and almost 40 acres of picturesque countryside, Spicers Guesthouse Retreat offers a more event-focused alternative to the company’s smaller vineyard property.
Built in 1984 and originally known as Peppers Guest House, the property was purchased by Spicers Retreats in 2016, with the company spending two years and in excess of $30 million to bring it back to life with their signature style.
The existing buildings were extensively refurbished using a neutral base of timber and stone punctuated by rich, deep ink tones and subtle metal accents.
A series of new spaces were also added to deliver a luxe experience for guests, including a cosy sandstone firepit and the striking infinity edge pool, while the centrepiece of the Guesthouse is its restaurant, Eremo, which is run by multi-hatted chef Cameron Matthews and offers a modern Italian menu.
