Winning varieties

Hungerford Hill’s 2019 Fiano won a Gold Medal at the Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show.

With a score of 96 it achieved the highest overall score in the class
for fuller bodied, textural and luscious Fianos. Pale straw-yellow
in colour with aromas of mandarin and garden herbs it finishes with refreshing lemon acidity, perfect for a long summer lunch or dinner.

The judges commented that there was “plenty to be pleased about” in the class, “with the best examples having each element (texture, oak, complexity and structure) in check.”
