Where there’s will, there’s a way
Maitland Independent Disability Support (MID Support), an NDIS registered provider, delivers innovative support services that provide opportunities for people with a disability to achieve social inclusion and independence. MID Support is committed to providing a high standard of service to assist people with a disability to achieve their personal goals and to live as independently as they can. Their services include supported independent living, transport, in-home daily care and community access.
The 130 strong team of carers and support workers at MID Support had a busy 2020, despite all the challenges the year provided, while continuing to run 11 group homes and supporting more than 100 clients.
In August, their new offices were opened in Thornton. With its distinctive butterfly logo it can’t be missed when driving by. “Throughout history, the butterfly has symbolised resurrection, endurance, hope and life. At MIDS, our butterfly is a symbol of our care: if there’s a better way to do it, then we will find it,” said Managing Director, Lorraine Martin.
In September the local MP, Jenny Aitchison, who attended the opening, paid tribute to them in Parliament with a Community Recognition Statement and wished the team well for the future in their new premises.
To top it off, MID Support was also a finalist in the 2020 Hunter Local Business Awards for outstanding health improvement services.
