Maitland – Carrie’s Place Domestic Violence and Homelessness Services Inc.
Carrie’s Place enjoys a special place in the hearts and minds of the community, demonstrated by the generous support in the form of grocery items and financial donations. Carrie’s Place has a team of volunteers contributing their precious time and energy to support staff allowing them to provide specialist services to women and children affected by domestic violence and homelessness. Carrie’s Place values and respects the community spirit of its volunteers, such as Jan who volunteers twice a week. “I’m a grandmother of four girls, and I want them and other women and children, to grow up in a safe community,” said Jan.
For more than 40 years, Carrie’s Place has been working in the Maitland and Hunter area providing support, help, advice and guidance to many vulnerable people to support recovery and build resilience. They provide a range of culturally appropriate programs for people experiencing domestic and family violence, and/or homelessness.
Highly qualified staff with specialist skills also provide case management and court advocacy, to assist people to move forward in their lives with independence, safety, security and dignity.
