Beauty products with Raw food ingredients for sensitive skin
“I love a long hot shower,” says Shannon Edwards, the creative dynamo behind Glendale based organic skincare brand Mint.s Body. “That’s when I have my best ideas. And once I’ve had an idea, I’ll just do it.”
With more than 15 years of experience working alongside beauty therapists and dermatologists she saw many of her clients struggle with finding affordable products for sensitive skin.
“They often had no choice but to turn to pricey luxury brands,” she says. She started experimenting with raw food ingredients as they are a lot gentler on the skin and quickly saw the results she had hoped for.
In 2015, she launched with a Mint Chocolate Chip Body Scrub, mixing and packaging the first units at her kitchen table. Her business has soared since then and her range now includes bath soaks, face scrubs, lip sugars, clay masks, body oil, bath bombs and even hair care products. Yet the Mint.s Body philosophy hasn’t changed: handcrafted, vegan-friendly skincare from carefully chosen, Australian-sourced raw and organic ingredients like olive, grape seed and coconut oil, charcoal or sweet almond and sugar.
“And we never test on animals,” Shannon says forcefully. Rather, Shannon and her team personally test all products and are keen to get customer feedback to keep refining Mint.s Body products.
So what is Shannon’s personal fave? “It’s my first one,” she smiles. “The Mint Choc Chip Body Scrub not only exfoliates and removes dead skin cells, it also hydrates and nourishes. It’s so full of hydration, you don’t need to moisturise after you have used it.”
