Triple support
A not-for-profit, incorporated organisation based in Morisset, Southlake Community Services is grounded in principles of community development and support. The organisation focuses on three key projects.
Southlake Neighbourhood Centre is a central point for community activity, offering a soft-entry point for information, referral, and community advocacy. A range of weekly activities include a food assistance program and community café, playgroup, and social craft groups. The Neighbourhood Centre also hosts activities in Yunung Community Garden, as well as community events for NAIDOC Week, R U OK? Day and the Biggest Morning Tea.
As a registered NDIS provider, Horizons Disability Support Program encourages and supports people living with a disability to achieve their goals, increase independence, develop new skills, and have active and valued roles in the local community. They provide person-centred, individualised support through activities in their day program including art, music, games, outings and gardening, as well as one-on-one in community supports.
Southlake Youth Service provides early intervention services to local young people and families through case management support, parenting programs, school-based mentoring programs and youth activities.
They are also a partner facilitator in the Rent Choice Youth program, where young people who are at-risk of homelessness are supported to find and maintain a private rental tenancy.
