East Maitland: Empower independence

Miracle Assistance Dogs (MAD) has a vision to empower people living with disability to gain independence and live more fulfilling lives by providing highly trained assistance dogs and developing community participation.

MAD runs the Miracle Dog School on Saturday mornings in East Maitland. At the school, people with disabilities learn how to maintain the training of their Miracle Assistance Dog. After passing the Public Access Test, the dogs are certified under the Guide, Hearing and Assistance Dogs Act 2009.

The organisation relies on the service of a team of dedicated volunteers and is currently looking for enthusiastic people to help with fundraising and promotions.
They would love to hear from anyone who can organise a trivia night with great prizes, a high tea or other fun events. From time to time they are also looking for caring and dedicated puppy carers. This is a highly rewarding role that requires a high level of commitment. Puppy carers train the puppy from eight weeks to 12 months of age.

Please support MAD in their efforts to help people who are living with disabilities. Donations can be made to Beyond Bank for Miracle Assistance Dogs Inc. BSB 325 185 Account No. 03722856. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
