Newcastle East – The Underground at The Grand

One of Newcastle’s oldest and most iconic pubs has recently added a moody speakeasy to their offering. Accessible via the pub or through a grungy street entrance on Bolton Street, The Underground will draw you in with its cosy atmosphere and quirky décor, an impressive list of signature cocktails and a well curated wine list that includes natural and lo-fi options. Non-alcoholic cocktails are also on offer.

uesdays are jazz nights, weekends regularly feature life music across a variety of styles. Give your vocals a workout at the fortnightly open mic nights.

For some sustenance, order from the pub kitchen upstairs. The menu includes pub classics as well as a crispy pork belly with roasted summer veggies, oven roasted salmon or a light and flavourful roasted beet salad with spiced walnuts.

The Underground open Tuesday – Saturday, 5pm – late. The Grand Monday – Sunday, 10am – late.
