The best of the best – EPIC release

Hungerford Hill are traditionally releasing their EPIC Shiraz at two eponymous lunches in June of each year. Typically a medium bodied red in true Hunter tradition, it’s made from only the very best parcels of fruit from sister vineyard Sweetwater Estate.

The upcoming 2021 release is no exception and has already received the equally highest point rating for any red in the Hunter.

The Real Review calls it a “stunning wine that is great now but has many years in front of it” and lauds its “intense and bright ruby with a purple glint in the light. Primary and youthful aromatics, mulberry, pencil lead and cola spices at the fore. There’s ample fruit intensity but it has a subtle lift of acidity as well that accentuates a dark minerality that offers great appeal. Tannins are finely honed to ensure length and drive yet seamless in their integration.”

It’s a wine that always flies off the shelves, so get in quickly and get your share of this truly EPIC red.
