Newcastle West – The Edwards
Iconic eatery The Edwards in Newcastle’s Parry Street is under new ownership by much lauded independent brewery Akasha. Recently hired chef Cooper Hague has updated the menu with a flavourful, sophisticated punch. Snacks include spiced pumpkin dip with curry leaf roti, taramasalata or fish crudo.
ains range from melt-in-your mouth harissa lamb ribs to roasted sugarloaf cabbage, a delightful vegetarian option, and classics like Eddie’s cheese burger. Woodfired flatbread with whipped ricotta, truffle frites or autumn vegetables make for delicious sides. Or choose the Bangin’ Feast, The Eddie’s hits in a banquet style format.
There’s a new drinks menu and a rotating mix of local craft beers on tap and, of course, Akasha’s own brews. Or drop in for a Friday afternoon Super Chill Session, enjoy drink specials and listen to the tunes as next door neighbour Rudderless Records is spinning the vinyls.
Open Wednesday to Sunday from 11am.
