Wyong – The power of words

The Fellowship of Australian Writers (FAW) Wyong is a writer’s group for all levels of creative writing. It is a friendly group that meets and has discussions about writing across a variety of genres, welcoming people of all ages who are interested in writing poems, short stories, novels or their own life’s story.
They connect with and help writers with any difficulties in a supportive environment. Group members range from beginners to advanced and published writers. Meetings provide information about upcoming events and the opportunity to share a cuppa, a chat and afternoon tea.
In addition to their monthly meetings, FAW Wyong also offers small scribblers groups for critiquing in a close-knit, informal setting.
As a group they have recently been working on an anthology called The First Fleet, their next group work is a combined short story called The Caravan Club.
Members also receive the quarterly Writers Voice with details of literary competitions and results, branch news, members’ writing achievements, coming events, book reviews and articles of interest to established and aspiring writers of all ages.
Currently the Wyong branch is looking for new members. Other local branches can be found in the Hunter Valley and Lake Macquarie.
FAW Wyong meets on the fourth Saturday of the month at the Mardi Community Centre, Woodbury Park,
1 Wollmers Cres, Mardi.
