2NURFM excels at Community Radio Awards

Newcastle and the Hunter’s very own 2NURFM 103.7 has taken out a prestigious accolade at the 2023 Community Radio Awards for Excellence in Creative Audio, for the station’s celebrated production, “War on the Doorstep”.

Shane Peak in his acceptance speech emphasised the profound impact of storytelling.

“We’re thrilled to continue sharing this incredible story, and it’s a reminder of how the resilience of the people of Newcastle during a turbulent time can inspire and resonate with all of us.” said Peak.

A finalist in a whopping seven categories of this year’s Community Radio Awards including for Best Station Production, Excellence in Outside Broadcasting and for Best Online Content.

“I’m thrilled and proud,” said Station Manager Shane Peak. “This recognition reflects our team’s dedication and the strong community connections we’ve built through radio. I would like to thank our incredible staff, volunteers, and, of course, our listeners who inspire us to strive for community engagement.”

The 2023 awards received more than 350 entries from radio stations across the country, making this an even more impressive achievement.
