Garden design trends

Explore this year’s landscaping innovations & inspirations.

GREEN WALLS AND VERTICAL GARDENS

Have a boring fence? Or, a dull area of the garden? Vertical and green walls are coming back in. These are a great opportunity to create further green surfaces in the garden and to really add another element to the space.

MAKE IT EDIBLE

Plants are really fascinating. But plants that you can eat and share with friends and family are even more fascinating. Incorporate a small vegetable or herb garden into your outdoor space.

OUTDOOR LIVING ROOMS

Think outside the house… Useable spaces are key for a successful garden. Outdoor showers, outdoor kitchen areas with comfortable seating options are a timeless addition.

SURFACE FINISHES

Paving, stonework, timber and concrete surfaces continue to be popular choice. To create the perfect material palette, source as many samples as your can to see and feel what you really like in person.

MULTI-USE SPACES

I constantly get asked to add fire pits into our designs. We believe it is better to have an area that is multi-use. It can be a fire pit for the colder months and then when the sun is out the area can be used for sunbathing or sipping cocktails.

AREAS FOR WELLNESS

We are now incorporating “wellness” areas into our designs that have features that promote mental and physical wellbeing. This includes spaces for meditation, yoga, breathwork and the inclusion of aromatic plants always helps to add another sensual element to the space.
