Indulge in a D’Vine Long Weekend

If you’d like to spend the October long weekend wine tasting, pasta making or having a scenic horse drawn carriage ride through the vineyards, make your way to Pokolbin for the D’Vine Festival.

Organised by the Around Hermitage Association, the festival, which starts on Saturday, October 5 and runs through until Tuesday October 8, will showcase the very best of the Around Hermitage Food and Wine Trail.

Now in its second year, D’Vine Festival has been reimagined to bring a great range of hands-on culinary experiences, more entertainment, more activities and a whole host of child and dog friendly events.

“All our businesses have done an amazing job at putting together truly unique offerings for the festival, and we’re so proud to welcome people with a taste for the finer things to our stunning region,” Jo Bowskill, Around Hermitage Association Vice President said.

“We’ve thought of everything to make the festival a relaxing and enjoyable experience, from pet friendly transport, through to a concierge service for your purchases”.

Over 28 events will be held across wineries, restaurants, and more. Sample hand-crafted gins and learn about how they’re made at the Wildstreak Distillery or head to Mercer Wines for freshly shucked oysters paired with their unique Picpoul Blanc and live jazz music. Learn about the art of wine making during a viticulture tour and tasting at Latitude 32 Wines or pop over to Tintilla Estate for freshly-cooked paella paired with a glass of their wine.

On both Saturday and Sunday those visiting with their pooch can enjoy the Glandore Paws Festival with a great range of doggy events, including a pet market and dog behavior Q&A sessions.

On Sunday Nicita Estate will host its first ever Our Italian Festival complete with Italian classic cars, wine and olive tasting, gelatos, music, lawn games and their fabulous pasta making demonstrations. Rarely open to the public, this is one of the few times each year that you can spend time on the estate basking in some of the best panoramic views in Pokolbin.
