Briar Ridge 2018 Albarino

This deliciously aromatic white variety (pronounced alba rin yo), is widely grown in Galicia in NE Spain and is also the star of Vinho Verde from northern Portugal. It is rapidly gaining popularity in Australia and praise be. This is the first of its kind released by the Davis Family from Briar Ridge, available from their totally magical cellar door in Mount View. Made by the talented team of Gwyn Olsen and Alex Beckett, this tasty number has all the limey minerality of a classic Riesling, layered with the ripe apricoty lusciousness of Viognier. Fingers crossed this is the first of many lovely Albarino offerings from Briar Ridge.
